Sculptures in Dusseldorf (part 9)

One of amazing parts of Dusseldorf is definitely Schloss Benrath. It’s beautiful, luxurious and surrounded with its own pond, lake and breathtaking park.

You need several hours to walk and enjoy in its beauty.

Swans, ducks and geese, lots of other birds, old trees and gorgeous gardens filled with flowers, benches and bushes. Whatever you imagine, there is.

Schlosspark Benrath is used for concerts and other events. It has several statues that proudly make this place even more beautiful.

They are huge, with lots of details.

This is definitely part of Dusseldorf for both nature and art lovers.


Sculptures in Dusseldorf (part 8)

Two more very interesting and popular statues are located in Altstadt, Dusseldorf.

Famous Auseinandersetzung or Dispute consists of two bronze sculptures of men debating. It’s very popular among tourists who enjoy taking photos of it.

The author of this stunning work is Karl-Henning Seemann.

One of indeed most visited and pictured statue is in the heart of Altstadt, in front of Rathaus Marktplatz – Town Hall. It is also bronze, famous Jan Wellem Equestrian Statue or Jan-Wellem-Reiterstandbild.

The Rider is in the center of a small square surrounded with Rathaus, restaurants and coffee shops.

Almost every city event starts here and there is a seriously large number of them.

This is definitely one of must see in Dusseldorf.


Sculptures in Dusseldorf (part 7)

Some more sculptures from Dusseldorf will be mentioned here.

One of them is a large sculpture in a public park on Brehmplatz Zoopavillon.

It’s magnificent and well done.

Another one, on the other side of the city, in Kö-Bogen, in front of Breuninger shopping mall is indeed very creative and unusual.

It’s a bronze nail or “nagel” in German by Günther Uecker.

Very interesting sculpture of a two meter nail imbedded in concrete.

Considering there is a park nearby with a pond, geese, ducks and swans, we sincerely recommend you to visit this beautiful sculpture.
